This is a little trick I learned by watching one of National Quilters Circle. Something that surprised me because I put my thread in a drinking glass so not to destroy the labels.
When you take your thread to thread your machine little thought is given as to how the thread would unwind from the thread holder. Surprisingly it could result in more breakage than what would be expected of the thread.
Take the thread, unwind a piece and see if it kinks, if it does, turn it every either horizontal or vertical till you find the thread no longer kinks but relaxes. That would be the best position to place on your sewing machine and thread your machine. It is why so many machines now comes with a horizontal and vertical thread holders to accommodate this. Something I never knew and good to remember.
What did you learn that made all the difference in your sewing? Would be good to know for another topic.
